Collect:  Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. FOR YOUR PRAYERS:

- for peace and stability in our troubled and broken world, praying for places where there is ongoing conflict, and for those who have the power to influence the lives of many. We pray for Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, South Sudan. For peaceful resolution of the rising tension with North Korea. For those fleeing their homes and taking risky journeys to seek refuge, that they may find food, shelter and safe places to live, and that before long all may be able to live in peace and security.

- for the forthcoming general election in June & the negotiations towards Brexit, that in this time of uncertainty all concerned may work together in peace, harmony and understanding for the good of all people, regardless of their nationality and economic status.

-  for this parish:  for those living in Ashgrove, Bolton Close, Low Road, Parsonage Close, Poplars Close, Roman Close, The Leys, Tunbridge Close (Burwell), Chapel Lane (Reach).

- we give thanks for godparents and godchildren, and pray for supportive relationships, journeying together in faith.

* If you are interested in preparing for confirmation at Ely Cathedral on 4th June, or for younger children, to prepare to receive communion please speak to Eleanor asap.

* If you’d like to exhibit your pictures in Burwell Festival Art Exhibition, which will be in church from 10th – 13th June, please pick up a registration form at the back of church. Deadline to register is early May.

* Mother’s Union – changes to programme.

10 May Prayer Walk – meet at the windmill at 7.30pm followed by drink at 5 Bells.

14 June Family Lawyer at Jennie’s, 20 Parsonage Lane with wine and nibbles.

*  A reminder to please leave PARKING on the church drive for people with mobility difficulties.  Parking must be on the right-hand side, leaving space at the entrance to the church for attendance of emergency vehicles and dropping off people with mobility problems. If possible, please also avoid parking under the horse chestnut tree.

*  Please let the Churchwardens know if you SWAP on the various ROTAS to save panic when the listed people do not turn up on Sunday morning.
